We had a great day today, but jetlag is still hanging on with a vengence. I don't know when I am supposed to eat and when I am suppposed to sleep.
The kids have been handling everything so well. They really are very adaptable, and Savannah has already said that she thinks that she could live here.(!) That surprises me so much, because I am such a creature of my own familiar surroundings. But I love it that they are getting the opportunity to shrink their own world a bit. This was exactly the kind of thing that Race and I had hoped to be able to do for them. It really feels good. The kids have loved soaking in the culture and sight-seeing. They are also enjoying all of the new foods that they have been able to try. Even Austin, who rarely vocalizes any outward emotion, has remarked several times about how "awesome" this all is. And of course, as usual, Jack just jumps right in with both feet.
Another great day.
G'night....er..morning...whatever,
Melissa

I told DH about your trip today and he was so excited for you all. I hope you adjust soon with the jetlag and I'm glad one of your goals as a parent has been reached! That always feels good.
I can't wait to hear all about it and don't forget we live on a backwards schedule from most so feel free to e-mail or whatever if you're bored, chances are I'm up...lol
Oh and it's really interesting to me that you have a child that internalizes a lot. My oldest is exactly that way. For his birthday remember we got him onto the field of his favorite football team, WITH the players. And he looked like he didn't even want to be there. But inside I know he was JUMPING. Funny how some people are just like that huh?
Hugs,
Jess
