Well, I think that I am gonna live. Yay! I awoke this morning, giving thanks for the amazing healing powers of the human body. I am sore. I am swollen. And the inside of my mouth is bruised. BUT, I took advil (a LOT), and it really didn't slow me down much at all today. And for that I am SOooo thankful!
Things with Race are looking more positive, but still uncertain. We are hopeful.
I am looking forward to Thanksgiving very much this year. I can't wait to have our whole family together again. My Mom and Dad always manage to have various "extra" folks at their Thanksgiving table (s), and over the years, that in and of itself has become a part of the tradition. For the past several years I have had to be introduced to at least one or two people at the house. It is always spilling over with GREAT food, in great quanities, it is loud, and it's comfortable. I love it. What is your Thanksgiving like?
I feel like I haven't seen Em's boys in forever.....and I simply cannot wait for "Uncle Race" to see how much they have grown!
School is going O.K., I guess, but to be honest, we have all had a really difficult time concentrating on ANYTHING this week. Nothing too staggering to report there, except that so far, Algebra is going smoothly (whew!), and A.'s finally beginning to understand the writing process. Savannah is on the 5th book in the Chronicles of Narnia series, and is anxiously awaiting the new Warriors book due out Dec 1. And Jack? Well, still my reluctant student, but I WILL outlast him. I WILL. I know I will. (weak smile)
Well, that's about it. Seriously. I have searched the recesses of my brain.......and THAT"S it. That's just all I've got. Nothing more. But, hey, I'm pretty sure that I have had more boring posts than this one! I just can not concentrate.
Tomorrow is a busy one, so I guess I'd better get myself to bed, and hope that my half-swollen face is back to normal by tomorrow.
G'night,
Melissa

Glad you're recooperating from the trip to the "tooth dentist" as my Grandpa says. (What other kind of dentist is there?)
It's good to hear you speaking... er...typing positively regarding Race's homecoming. So looking forward to that special time for you all. Still praying that all will work out well.
If you're reading this comment, Purple Petunia, I, too, spent a few hours (over a few days) reading all of Melissa's blog back in the summer. It's well worth your time.

Co-conspirators are the best, especially the God-given, life-long ones. They're the ones worth waiting for, and you two have it goin' on! I am just dying for some latebreaking news!!
Glad the swelling is going down and that you're on the mend. John goes back in again tomorrow and is *almost* looking forward to it. But he said to tell you it won't stay swollen for long, and the "yucky medicine" really does help. :-)
{{hugs}} Dy
I'm so sorry you are bruised and swollen! I hoep it's even better tomorrow! We havne't done much school at all this year either. Between you, Dy, and I we can declare this year our sabbatical and move on in January...LOL
Still praying Race will be sharing turkey with all of you!
Our Thanksgivings used to be huge and loud for many years, all my childhood and when we lived near my dads family. The last few years it's been relatively quiet which may be why we keep on adding new babies to it. ;-) By the time our children are grown we shoudl have HUGE Thanksgivings again. (5 kids, 5 spouses, ??? grandkids) :-)
Praise the Lord for Advil! Seriously.
Man, I'm looking forward to T-day, too."Uncle Race"--that's funny! It'll be so good to have him back home.Still prayin!
And,hey, don't worry, you were right. You've definitely written more boring blogs that this. BWAHAHAHAHAAHA! ;0D
Welcome Purple Petunia! And thank-you. If you do go back and read other postings....I would just like to say that on most days, I seem quite normal. Not all like the disjointed, psychopath that reading several of my posts in one sitting, make me appear to be! (Right Lynette???*nudge, nudge*)
Dy, please tell John that I think that he is a very, VERY brave boy! And that I will take his advice and continue with the "yucky medicine".
Jess, yes, yes, girl I would say you definitely have many loud Thanksgivings to look forward to! Better teach those yung'uns to cook, or you'll be all worn out!!
And Thom. Well...thanks.What are sisters for? Do I need I bring up the whole PPW post?? (BTW, I am the one who left your car door ajar and drained your battery...(insert evil laugh).
Now I really want to read the PPW post, where can I find this piece of history? :-)
Glad you are feeling better. I hope a miracle happens for you this T-Day and Race "magically" appears.!
Laney
I knew it was you. I KNEW it! LOL!
