A bunch of stuff..

What should I be recording on TIVO this fall??? I am clueless. ANd I'm also busy, so I need to have something to watch on the rare occasion that I have some time at night to crash and watch mindless television. Oh- and the produce man at Food Lion today told me I looked like Danielle on Big Brother. I have no idea who that is, and I must admit that while I've never watched any of the Big Brother episodes, it kind of creeps me out that my old produce guy watches it. So...who is Danielle??? anyone???? is this a compliment? Or is she the old, haggard, has-been that they put on the show for balance?

Well, today we entered the "Back-To-School" crowd in a big way. I think that I already posted that we are sending Austin to a private, classical, Christian school this year. Today was upper school registration. The fascilities at the school are absolutely breathtaking with beautiful courtyards, and vaulted cielings, and massive windows that allow light to flood the entire place. Hordes of teenagers standing in lines with stacks of textbooks, schedules, locks for lockers. The kids were awesomely ........normal! Well educated, well spoken, individual.......and........NORMAL!! This is totally foreign to me coming from my own private school background. The administration is just incredible. Austin knew so many kids there already, so it was really welcoming. He found his locker, his classrooms, and then just hung out. He is really looking forward to school starting on Tuesday. We bought school supplies, and locker-stuff, etc. We are incredibly thankful to be able to give Austin this opportunity, and I think it is going to fit our needs beautifully.

Savannah had riding lessons this morning. She has really started working hard at it, and she can't wait to show her dad! She is training in saddleseat, and is looking forward to doing her first show! (excited squeal!!)

Jackson got his football uniform tonight. This is a BIG,BIG, BIG day for our family. You see, Jack got Race's old number!!!!!! I swear to you I think that Race will cry when he finds out. Jack put on the whole uniform and had me take his picture to send to his dad. I can't tell you how much Jack is enjoying playing football. He crawls into the suburban each night after practice, all sweaty-headed, chugging gatorade and gasping, "I LOVE football!!" Our coaches are wonderful. They don't tolerate ANY horseplay. AT.ALL. A kid was kicked off the team for it last night. They repeatedly remind the kids to respect their teammates. They have taught them to tackle HARD, but then stick your hand out and help up your teammate. It's been really great stuff. The kids are learning to be a TEAM. Our second scrimmage jamboree is tomorrow. Go Bruins!!!!!!! Go #32!!

GO BRUINS!! :) We cannot WAIT to come down for a game and a horse show, etc.

Sounds like a real exciting time around there.

As for the Tivo thing. No clue about the Big Brother comment, I don't watch that show either. But you MUST start Tivoing, Deadliest Catch!! Other standards on ours are Seinfeld (sorry, they are still funny), 30 Rock, Sons & Daughters (it was only on for one season and i think we were the only ones to watch it but FUNNY!!), The Office, The Soup, Greys Anatomy and Glenn Beck.
We have the big Tivo so it never fills up and we always have hours or mind-numbing, commercial free TV to watch whenever the occasion may arise.

Well, since I'm your non-culturally-enlightened friend, I can't help w/ the TIVO. Or the other thing. But I'm guessing she's probably a hottie. :-P

OK, that Jack got Race's number is just really too neat! And how wonderful that he's loving it so very much. I'm SO envious of Jack's coaches, and the atmosphere they work to create on the team. We have none of that, and it's gotten worse this past week. I'm so, so glad he's got such a great team of coaches. Be sure to tell us how Race responds when he gets the picture!

GO Savannah!! (Where are the horse pictures??? Where are the riding pictures?)

And wow, oh, wow, what an exciting time for Austin. This sounds like a wonderful setup. You guys probably couldn't have designed a better situation if you'd set out to. How fantastic is that?
