We had a good day yesterday. We needed one. We are one weary family. Our lifestyle right now, with Race being gone all of the time is showing wear on all of us, particularly on Race. I wouldn't say that we are in forward motion,(at least it doesn't feel forward), but a more apt description would be hanging on the side of a jagged cliff by your fingernails and toenails praying that a breeze doesn't come along! Nevertheless, God is faithful. We see God's blesssings to us. As a family, we are all still of one mind, on the same team, and seeking the same goal........and THAT means a lot when the going gets tough!
We stopped our lessons for lunch, and I picked up some subs. We headed down to our creek for an impromptu picnic. It is so beautiful down there! We went for a walk and found all sorts of beautiful wild flowers and shrubs in bloom. I am amazed at how much my kids know about wild plants and herbs. While we ate our lunch on the bank of the creek, Jack was hopping around on all of the big boulder-sized rocks and in and out of the water like Gollom. It was fun.
We headed back up, finished our lessons, and then on to Martial Arts. When we pulled up, large boys came pouring out of the Martial Arts studio and descended upon our suburban. In a flash most of the doors were open. Austin's friends were glad to see him, and they were all joking and clowning instantly. There is always a wave, or a "Hey Mrs. Williams!" for me. As they loudly tumbled out of the car with their huge bags of gear, my boys waved to me. Austin held open the studio door, while Jack was carried in "sack-of-potato" style, by one of the other boys. Ahhhh.....good stuff.
Savannah and I did some shopping while they were in class. One of the things that I had to get was drawing paper. We had run out of paper, and I swear ,I thought that Savannah was going to start drawing on the walls!! After we got home, we ate dinner and quickly got outside for the last bit of the day. The kids played, while I worked in the garden.
Lastly, we all stayed up and watched The Amazing Race. Race called (he was watching too)and we had a running commentary on the phone while watching the show. I have said it before.....we could SO win that money!
So, there you have it!
On the agenda for today is Savannah's art lesson. While she is there, the boys and I will be working at home, in the yard. It is BADLY in need of attention!
Enjoy your day!
Melissa

Oh, that is so sweet. I'm glad Austin has good quality friends who are good to Jackson and respectful to you, too. That is good stuff.
Well, I'm pooped just reading about it. Had to laugh at the thought of poor Savannah having to sketch on the walls since she's being deprived of paper. Gee Whiz, Mom, I'll bet the boys don't run out of clean undies for martial arts practice! ;-)
Enjoy the beautiful day!!
