Church was awesome today. I came in dragging, and feeling really down, and I left feeling grateful and blessed.
The inlaws (F&A) took us to lunch today. Jack has really been enjoying spending some quality time with someone else besides me. He has enjoyed having them visit so much.
After church, Austin and Savannah changed into their work-duds, and went with the youth group to rake leaves for the rest of the day. There were 2 families who were really in need this year,(one woman recently lost her husband in the past few weeks) and I thought that this was such a nice and practical way of doing something for them. The kids all had a good time and felt good about helping out.
Also this weekend, the boys participated in a Kick-a-thon for charity. They took pledges, per kick, and did as many kicks as they could in 3 minutes.Jack did 198, and Austin did 230. Together they raised about $300. for a really good cause.
After purchasing a new adapter card, my wireless network is now complete. YAY!
I have a long week ahead. We will be schooling until Thursday, and then it's off to my mom and dads. The approaching holidays are making me feel really run down and weepy, because it's hard to stop thinking about just how much we are going to be missing Race for the rest of the year.
I know that a lot of military wives are in the same boat, and probably they have been away from their husbands even longer. But somehow, that doesn't make my situation any easier to bear at the moment. I'm sure that I'll eventually gain a fresh perspective.
G'night,
Melissa

I will be thinking about you and sending you good thoughts. I can't imagine being apart from Rusty all that time. He drives me crazy and sometimes sending him aways sounds like a good idea, just kidding, well maybe not. Anyway, I hope you have a great time with your parents for Thanksgiving. Tell them I said hi and Happy Thanksgiving.

I'm so sorry Melissa. I'm thankful this is an era when we have cell phones and e-mail and you can still be in touch at least.
Hugs to you and I hope the holidays are memorable and the time goes fast before Race is back home again.
Your kids are SO cool. I love reading about the things they're doing. :-)
{{{hugs}}} Just {{{hugs}}}.
Love you, sweetie!

You guys are in my prayers everyday. Keep hanging in there!! Perhaps we need another girls night out? Nothing cheers the spirits like an evening of fine foods, adult beverages and side-splitting laughter!!! :0).
