That was the joke if you went to L.U.
He was one of those people that just seemed larger than life. Someone who just seemed too stubborn to ever be troubled with death. He was one of the kindest people that I have ever known.
He helped me, personally, on several different occasions. Not because he should have, but just because I was some no-name, pathetic student who was, once again, bucking the system, and he kinda "got that". He understood all about the inner rebel.
I'll relate my whole story later tonight, but I just wanted to say that he will be greatly missed. He always said that he wanted to "go" while he was working, and that is apparently exactly what happened. He will be missed, and this area will never be the same.

We couldn't believe it when we watched the news today. We knew he'd been in poor health, but he kind of seemed like he'd always be around. It's a big day for memories and you're part of many of them!
Some people have nothing better to do than leave nasty comments and do it anonymously. I guess I like homophobic, ultra conservative, bigoted idiots. He will be missed in our house. He stood up for what he believed and didn't care who knew. The country needs more people like that.
Thanks Bridget. That's what I was looking for.
I deleted the moron's rude post. Mostly because I found it incredibly disrespectful, no matter what your opinion of the man.
And, yes Annette. A day for memories here as well. Good times, weren't they?
