When I got home today, I had a message from Dy on my phone, wondering where in the world we had gotten off to so early on a Saturday morning. Well, as it turns out Race had an extra day! It wasn't enough to come all the way home, so he grabbed a couple of hotel rooms, and the kids and I met him half-way. Nothing big, just hangin' out together for a little while longer. A little swimming in the pool, and then going out to eat ALL TOGETHER, and then just spending the evening talking. Well, actually most of us were talking. Jackson was busy wearing out his hotel key-card going in and out of his room (oooooo...the excitement: an electronic KEY CARD). We were so thankful to have the opportunity to spend just a little more time with one another. Totally worth it.
It's back to the old grind here. We are gearing up for school lessons tomorrow, back in full force, (that would be the groans of the children that you are hearing in the background). The things that I see in my immediate future are the dump, the lawn mower, school lessons, composting what's left in the garden.....I could go on, but out of sympathy for you, the reader, I won't.
Whatever sliver of creativity or interest that I am, at random moments, able to call upon when I write, has vanished completely for now. So, I'll catch y'all later!

I am so glad you got the extra time. We think about you guys and pray for all of your troopers often.
How exciting for you to be able to spend that extra time with Race. Whether it's a little time or alot every second counts. Tell the kids I'm sorry school is back in session.

LOL! I hear ya. I'm glad you had the bonus time together. It's like getting a mouthful of whipped cream after you've already got some on your sundae. :-)
