We had a good day today! Wednesday is our day to stay at home. I got some house cleaning done first, while the kids all played outside and then on to lessons. Everyone was great, although that youngest one still has an attention span that is simply non-existent, and apparently....a bladder the size of a pea (LOTS of bathroom breaks today, at the most inoportune times!) The older two were nowhere NEAR as fidgety as he is at this age. Savannah is going to be using the writing program called "Writing Strands" this year. She is an excellent writer, and this curriculum seems to be a perfect fit for just giving the basics without messing with the writers style. She likes it. Woo-Hoo!!! We ended lessons with a very cool experiment on Density in Nature. A. thought that it was interesting that the ancient Greek scientists used experiments like these to explain the existence of things like atoms and density. Things that could not be seen, and yet they knew that they were there. Cool! A. is working hard on learning proper lab techniques, and keeping a proper lab notebook-(The "not-so-fun" part of science!).
We are trying to stay busy these days. We are really missing Race, and he is really missing us. And you know, it just gets plain lonely!
We are planning to take my crew + 1 friend each out to Putt-Putt tomorrow afternoon for awhile before martial arts. The kids should all have a great time. The boys are best friends with 2 brothers of the same age (very convenient) that go to a classical school in our area, and Savannah is friends with a little girl from her dance class who goes to another private school in our town. They are all good kids, from good families and they all have a good time together. It will be a long day though!
Bye,
Melissa

Seems like you guys are plugging right along! That is great! Tell all the kids we said hey! I am going to try to get Q to start writing letters to J soon. He is excited about the idea.
Also, please no more fairy costumes for Savannah!! She looks WAY TOO OLD!!
You keep on doing what you're doing and trust that the time for change is coming, and when everyone is where they need to be, it will HAPPEN. And oh, will it be sweet!!

You always sound so organized. Did you ever think you would be this together as a mom? I am very envious. I hope you all won't have to wait too long to see Race again.
Bridget
She IS organized, Bridget. Very amazing, really, what she gets accomplished every day.
Sounds like lessons are coming right along ("ehhhxcellent"--Mr. Burns).
Hope you guys enjoy the afternoon with the whole gang!
