So this morning, first thing, Jack comes downstairs and says, "Oh, mom, by the way, in case you were wondering, the Toot-Fest has been postponed." "Oh? How come?" He looks at me incredulously and says, "The HOLIDAY, of course." ANd then he hands me a homemade Valentine that he made all by himself with hearts and streamers all over it. AWWwwwwww... Actually all of the kids made me a Valentine. And then about half way through the day a Fed Ex guy arrives with 2 boxes. One for me and one for Savannah. Savannah's had a beautiful note from her dad, and contained a sweet, plush dog that holds a heart. Inside my box was a beautifully wrapped, tall, pink Tower of Treats. Each pretty pink, striped box holding a new EDIBLE( an important fact), surprise!(Of course there was a super sappy, sweet note enclosed in mine also!) And don't you know that I use my most dramatic effects when opening each and every box. I prolonged the suspense, making the surprise last as llllooonnnng....as possible. THIS drives children insane. The youngest became positively ravenous with excitement before I finally opened the last box!
Thank-you Race, for remembering. You made our day special! We Miss You!!!
G'night, and even if you didn't get a thing, be GLAD you're WITH your Valentine!
Melissa
P.S- The boys had received boxes of conversational hearts and lollipop bouquets from me......just so you know that they weren't left out!

I am glad I,m with my Valentine; even if we did spend the whole after-noon putting furniture together. I wish you were with your MAIN Valentine too. But, even from where-ever he is, he sent you a Valentine gift, and that's wonderful. And then you also got those precious homemade valentines. I really miss those. I still have some of the ones you girls made for us.
I'm sorry to hear the Toot-Fest had to be post-poned, but, I'm sure they will make up for it tomorrow. Something you're looking forward to, I'm sure.
Sounds like Jackson is back to his usual self. Glad to hear it.
Please tell Race "Hi" for us.
Love, Mom
I would have taken nothing and had George home but the chocolates WERE nice. ROFL
Glad you had a good day and the kids spoiled you. That toot-fest postphoned may have been the best gift of them all. ;-)
That is so incredibly sweet.
Zorak surprised me with, not a gift, but "a plan". He came home lugging a baby swing, colic tablets and foot oil... Miss Em wasn't about to be shunted aside quite so easily, but we did watch a movie in peace and I got a foot rub. I'm guessing she foiled his favorite part of "the plan," though... poor guy. I appreciated it, though.
The boys, however, showed what a true and utter goober I am, while we were at Wal-Mart on Monday. "Mom, why are all the decorations red and white? What's with all the hearts?" Oh, um... that's for Valentine's Day. "Yeah? When's Valentine's Day?" Uhhh, I think it's probably tomorrow. Not sure, though. (Cue chuckling from other shoppers.) *sigh* I'm a dork.
