Well, the stars must have aligned themselves properly or something, because I just got ANOTHER child in for a dental check-up. That's 2 down and 1 to go!In the past, when I would hear of people taking their children in for regular dental cleanings, I would remark, "You do that, eh?" But No more! Woo-hoo!

Austin got promoted in rank tonight at Scouts at the Court of Honor ceremony. Ooo and guess what? MOTHERS get appreciation pins as well! How cool! They honor the moms!(Funny to see each boy look on in horor when asked to pin these tiny pins on their mom's lapelle!!) It was a fun time tonight to get to know all the other parents of these great young men. You know, you always hear bad things about the "next generation", but this just gives you such a great feeling. Because if this is the "next generation"....I am not worried.

Thomasina came tonight to be there for Austin, and to take pictures for me. the boys thoroughly enjoyed seeing a professional photographer confidently snapping shots of them being presented with their awards. ANd then they really hammed it up for her afterwards too! I am sure that we will have some to post soon. Thanks so much Thom!

I talked to Race today for a bit. It was so good to hear his voice. We miss you Race!

G'night,
Melissa

I love getting those pins!

We just did all of our dental check-ups, too. The bummer was it took 3 seperate trips to do it! Heaven forbid the dentist's office actually work with me!!

I was LOL at "Toot Fest."!

That is so very sweet! I'm glad they take the time to honor the women in their lives. Good stuff.

ACK - the dentist! We are playing catch up after not going (well, Zorak and I went, but we went to Mexico b/c we were a poor college family - not taking my babies to Mexico for dental work!) You should see me sitting in the exam room w/ three children lumped on me and one in the chair, all waiting, me blocking the view of "the needle" from the others. LOL. *ahhh, sigh* Fun stuff!

Enjoy your day, and the alignment of the stars! I thought for a moment you were going to say you caught ANOTHER cold, and I cringed. So this was a great surprise to read!

We've been a little lacking in the dental department also but I did get Ashleigh in last month and Wayne and Blake in on Valentine's Day. "Happy Valentine's Day neither one of you have any cavities but sorry Blake you will be making a trip to the orthodontist." Now, I remember why we haven't been going regularly. Oh, well.
Glad to hear that you got to talk to Race, I know you must of really enjoyed that.

P.S. I was laughing so hard at the "toot fest", we so need to get Jack and Blake together.

Sometimes I think that we are all doomed when the younger generation takes over, and then sometimes I think that there probably hasn't been a generation in all of time that didn't think the younger people were just a bunch of misguided rebels. Good to hear you've got a group that can take care of us all when we get old (by bringing us drinks by the pool in Florida).

Ah, yes! It is good to know that all of the other kids will be working for your kids one day because you took the time and made the effort. LOL!! (but I'm kinda serious!).

See you guys this weekend!
