The birthday has come and gone and the lobster shells and wine glasses all cleared away. Things are back to the usual.
On Saturday I wallpapered the room upstairs for Savannah. It's the remaining part of our upstairs and it will be used as Savannah's art room/TV room. I started at 8:30 am and ended some time between 4 and 5. It was totally worth ruining my new manicure. It looks SO good!! We did a textured paper, which I had never worked with before. We are both really pleased with the results. We'll try to get pictures taken today to show you. (And besides, my toes still look nice.)
On Sunday, after church the boys went to a friends house while Savannah worked on a few art projects for her room, and I did lesson plans for the coming week. I realized that we were already starting our 5th week of school! I can't believe it. And you know, I am really pleased with the way things are going this year. I feel more together and organized than last. I think that it is partly due to paring down everyones activities. We were TOO BUSY last year! So it feels good to slow down a bit and let things sink in. You know....take a look around every once in awhile and realize.......it's GOOD. ;-)
I'm still working out 4 times a week. And this week, I need to go up weight in everything. Meaning the amount of weight that I am squatting, curling, whatever.....needs to INCREASE. I have come so far with this from where I started off that I totally psych myself out when I have to go up weight. I look at the size of the weight that I am doing.....the thing that was SO hard, and is now DOABLE, and I look at the size that I would jump up to, and I think "There's NO WAY. There is NO WAY I CAN DO THAT." ANd then I throw the weight on and I struggle through my reps and sets, and I realize. "Hey. I'm stronger than I thought. I think I might be able to do this!" SO. We'll see how it goes this week. It's the only way for me to keep any shape!
So, things have been a little slow around here. And when things are slow, and your kid has a video camera. You get videos on your computer like this one. Jackson and his friend, at the friends house, filming an infomercial. Admittedly, I am SO glad that there aren't any videos of MY commercials that *I* used to do at this age!! LOL!!
Cheers!
Melissa

How fun! Loved the video! I'm glad things are going well for you!!
Gah. This is the second blog I've read today with someone talking about exercising. I'm beginning to think God is sending me a message that reads, "Get off your arse, Kathy Jo."
Then again, maybe I'm the only one that believes God would use the word "arse."
Anyway, I'll check your blog in a few days when I've decided to speak to you again. ;)
I know Savannah is loving her new room and studio area. We can't wait to see it. And, I wish we had videos of your commercials. Some of them were pretty cute. Have you paid attention to some of the commecials on TV today. It makes you wonder, what happened to peoples imagination? I mean, sometimes, you have to think a few minutes to figure out just exactly what they were advertising!!
Keep up the good work on the exercising. All anyone has to do is look at you to see that it is all worth while.
Can't wait to see you all this weekend. Love, Mom
