I started this blog to keep the husband/father of this happy home up to speed with what goes on here while he is off making the world a safer place. We will refer to him as "Race" (You know..Race Bannon... from Johnny Quest?).
We are Christian in our religion, and conservative, in our politics.
We home school our guinea pigs,-er- I mean , our kids. Our life is not "the norm", but, with Divine Grace, we're makin' it work, and usually having a good time in the process!
LOVE that cabin! I loved the idea of getting away so much that I researched cabins here in Oklahoma. I found one that MAY fit the bill but most of them have TV's and aren't very secluded. Why bother then?
We're going to plan on visiting this one in February sometime, I can't wait! Thanks for the inspiration - loved the pics!
Oh and some of the prettiest country I've seen was in Virginia. My mom and her boyfriend took me up there to apply to Roanoke College. We visited so many historic landmarks and pretty country, and stayed in a beautiful B&B. BTW, I didn't get into Roanoke. ;-)
These pictures are awesome, Melissa! What a great time, and everyone looks very relaxed, very happy. I hope it was rejuvenating for y'all. :-) Welcome home!
My favorite part in Roanoke was a really old bridge named after someone famous (I'm a help huh? rofl). I just remember it was breathtaking but we couldn't go under it because there were HUGE icicles hanging from it that could have speared us to death easily...lol Any ideas of where/what that bridge was???
I don't know the name of the bridge, but we were living in Roanoke when Austin was born!!! I remember well the call from your mom. Can it really have been 14 years????
