There. I'm done.
When Race leaves, I spend the first few weeks without sleep. I am just all wound up, and my mind is racing( no pun intended) and I can't relax. So, last night, to fight the insomnia......or rather, give in to the insomnia, I Started my living room remodel. I spackled, sanded and primed all the walls. Before they went to bed, the boys helped me sand and prime. Then, at about 11:30, I hear footsteps down the stairs. It's Jack. He comes running over and flops down beside me and says, "Oh, mom, I just can't BEAR you down here working by yourself. I MUST help you!" I did let him help for a few minutes, before assuring him that I was fine, and that I was actually enjoying myself, and he could go back upstairs and sleep. Too funny. So my once RED walls are now white. And they are awaiting a couple of coats of "Spruce Frost".
We got through school today around 2:00, and all was fine. Nothing to jump and shout about, but fine. We all got outside for a bit in the nice weather. I had an hour to finish touching up the walls, before we had to leave for martial arts, etc. It is now 8:26 pm and we have just walked through the door. I. Am. Beat. So, the walls may have to wait for another day.
I will have to hault this post in progress. I have just been informed by a teary eyed 8 yr old, that his beloved fish Frodo has..............died. Frodo has been with us for 5 yrs, and accompnied us through a couple of moves. Soooooooo, I must go and preside over the funeral arrangements. The grieving has commenced.
G'night,

OH!! Tell Jack we are all so sorry to hear about Frodo! I will break the news to Q in the morning.
Way to go with the living room! I can't imagine it not being red. I am currently trying to tackle our kitchen. Painting a kitchen, sucks, so many nooks and crannies. Good luck to you!
Hope to see you guys soon! (Remember, a good night's sleep at Mom & Dad's is the sure cure insomnia!)

Aww, I'm sorry about Frodo.
((Melissa)) I'm sorry. I wish I had some magic words or at least wise words! I am praying for Race and for you, too!
I am really sorry about Frodo, I know what it is to lose a pet. (Ashleigh has had ALOT of pets) Also, I am thinking about and praying for you and Race.

Jack sounds like a tenderhearted soul! Those moments when they spontaneously blurt out their love are sooo nice for moms.Marcella
Aw, poor Jack. It's tough to lose a pet, especially when you're little. I'm sure the funeral services will give him closure (and a new fish might help, too??)
Your place is going to look SO good when the painting is complete. That color is awesome--very Pottery Barn---I love it!
Please tell Jackson we are so sorry that Frodo is no longer with him. We know he took very good care of him through the years.
Spring is just around the corner, so maybe Jack will soon find some little varmit around there to fill the void.
Good going on your living-room, but don't wear yourself out!
Love, Mom
I hope you're able to rest. Sleep is so important. I'd love to see before and after pictures! The new color sounds great.
Spruce Frost! A personal favorite of mine! I have a great respect and admiration for wives of dad's who are away alot. I had to travel some when I worked on towers, and I remember wondering how my wife kept it all together. I don't thing I could have managed it myself.
Hang in there!
Sorry for the loss of Frodo, that just plain stinks.
Is "Spruce Frost" a shade of green? I'm kind of slow at colors...lol
I want my hubby too - (({({({(hugs)})})} Go get some sleep (look who's talking).
