Whoo! I can't believe it is Friday already!
This week has definitely had it's difficulties, including an emergency trip to the dentist for Jack with an absessed tooth. His face is still swollen(He looks so pitiful!), but the antibiotics are taking effect, so that the pressure has been relieved. Also this week, I painted 3 walls in my living room "Spruce Frost", which, as it turns out is REALLY a cotton-candy blue. I will be sending Race a picture of this newly painted living room. Have I told you that this room WAS a "holly berry" red? Have I told you that it had Race's prized buck displayed proudly above his chair, and that the walls were donned with civil war prints? I should probably send a message with the picture that I email to Race. Something like: "Look, honey- I've painted our home to look like a giant confectionary Easter egg while you were away."
So, anyway, I have gone BACK to the paint store and am currently going color blind staring at all of the shades that are taped to my walls.
Did y'all remember about Frodo( the beloved goldfish?) dying? I recommended the usual, ritual flushing, in which we all gather around the toilet, I say a few words in memory of the lost loved one, and "SWOOSH!" on to the happy swimming waters, where all good fish go. Upon my recommendation, however,a sick Jack sat up and looked at me in horror. "Mom! That's BARBARIC! Frodo was a CHRISTIAN fish!" SO. It seems that poor Frodo would have a proper Christian burial. (sigh) Austin was kind enough to donate a small, plastic containter with an airtight lid, in which Frodo was lovingly placed.
NOW. With Jack getting all of the tooth problems, the funeral had to be postponed. This, in turn, brought about a bit of an experiment in cryogenics. Yeah. That's right. He's in my freezer. There has been talk of "raising" Frodo some time in the distant future.........and of course, "Bionics" has been discussed. Or maybe using the DNA from Frodo to increase the lifespans of fish everywhere. (Cause that would be helpful, right). And of course the baseball connection: Frodo and Ted Williams.
(Huge sigh) All I can say is that I still have to prepare a eulogy, and that this is the kind of crap that happens when kids aren't raised on a farm! * Can you eat goldfish?*
Have a great weekend!

I wouldn't eat it...you don't know cause of death! Your post left me laughing. I have painted several times realizing that the finished product looks nothing like the little swatch did. We'd love to see before, middle and after pictures! Sorry about Jack's dental troubles. I hope they're behind him. The pictures of the waterpark were great. It looked like so much fun! There's nothing like swimming in January!
Happy Birthday Savannah! Gee, your party looked like fun. Did they have a big slide. I love those.
I can empathizewith you on your painting. Although I,m not painting I colored my hair and it was supposed to be blond but it turned out to be strawberry blonde.Yuck!! On me it doesn't look good. Every time I go past a mirror I wonder who that women is.
I,m sure the funeral will be done in good taste. Do you have a pet cemetery in your yard? every one needs one. We had one for some pet in Jax. A neighbor boy preached and anotherled the singing . It was a real tear jerker!
Hope Jackson is feeling better. An abscess can be very painful. Willthey have to pull it when it clears?
Love Grandmama
Funny post, LOL!
Happy Birthday, Savannah!!!!!!!!
I completely understand about the painting. When we redid the kitchen I picked out a nice (I thought) blue and Rusty started painting late one night. It was horrible, it definitely did not look like the swatch. So, back to the store and it ended up being sage green. Good luck.
It looks like Savannah had a great birthday, we have talked about making a trip to the indoor water park.
Sorry to Jack on the loss of Frodo. We have a pet cemetary on the side of our house. It's what you have to do.

Glad Jack's tooth is a little better. Hopefully the swelling will be gone soon.
I'm glad you have a freezer for Frodo, as his Christian burial may have to wait until the ground warms enough to dig a proper grave.
Wishing Savannah a HAPPY BIRTHDAY.(Even though I told her earlier today on the phone.)
And, as for your walls, I think Easter Egg Blue is just lovely. (Are you suprised by that??) Love, Mom
ROFL @ Frodo was a Christian fish!! I tell ya, your a better mom than me. I would open the window and toss! (not really but that sounds tough, huh?) :-)
That top picture is a great shot of Savannah! Is there any way you can crop out the freak in the background? Wow, a LOT going on, a celebration of life and a ceremony of death... Best wishes to everyone -- hope Jack feels better soon!
Oh, and you should just take our approach to painting -- don't do it :-\.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAVANNAH!!!
The pictures look like so much fun! I want to take the boys back to the waterpark before I get the beached whale look happening.
Glad Jack is getting better and taking Frodo's demise so well.
And as for The Dude's comment about the painting, I would like t point out that our kitchen is half-way painted right now! Thanks!

OMG, The Dude's right about the freak in the background! I'm ROFL here!!
Prized deer mounts don't go well with the whole confectionary theme... I'd offer suggestions, but I can tell you that American Traditions Paint LIES - their "French Pastry" is evidenly paint-ese for "Big Bird Yellow", and I wouldn't eat a pastry that's that color. But, *sigh* you're a better woman than I, because while I wouldn't eat it, I will leave it in the bathroom. :-)
I hope Jackson's swelling is down in time for the burial. He was a good fish. A Christian fish. You're going to have to post your eulogy! LOL!
