This morning started out with putting the finishing touches on the birthday party invitations that I was helping Savannah with. They turned out really cute, and we got them in the mail this morning. (Incidently, these WILL NOT be timely,as the party is Saturday, so I had already talked with the moms, and all the girls can make it ;0) ). We are taking the girls to an indoor water park for the day. Should be a lot of fun! Thomasina is going with us too, so I should have pictures! School was thrown in here and there today, but not overly productive. But I don't really expect it to be, until next week. It always takes us a week to get settled again. Austin spent the better part of the day finishing up the patrol flag for his Scout patrol. It is WAY COOL! I'll post a picture of it when it totally complete.

I got a huge pat on the back today. One of the boys' martial arts coaches pulled me aside to tell me what a joy the guys were to have in class. He said that they were good examples. That they were hard workers, and if they had a question, they asked. He also said that they are always willing to help out anyone else in class. His exact words were, "Y'all are doing something right there." Wow. I really needed that. What a nice thing to take the time to say, ya know? I think that this is one of those Pay it Forward opportunities. I know a lot of great kids, but all too often, I don't take the time to tell their parents about it. I think that I will make an effort to do that much more often. And, yes, I am proud of my boys for earning that compliment. It seems that there is much more to them than just their good looks and bodily function noises........huh.

Well, I am going to herd everyone to bed, and then I am headed there myself. Well, after I watch My Name Is Earl, that TIVO is saving for me. Have y'all seen that??? Funniest show on TV. Heck, I feel like I know a lot of the characters personally......ya know, from around here where I live. I LOVE that show!!!

G'night,
Melissa

We're fans of Earl too...I think we know some relatives of the people you know!

It's always nice to hear a compliment. It means people really take the time to know and appreciate your kids too and that's always neat!

I've seen Earl only once because I was an Amazing Race fan and it was before I got TiVo (don't you love that thing?!). I didn't know it was on tonight actually! The one I saw was the episode where he was with his ex wife again and the guys ran up into the playland at the fast food place - I was laughing so hard!

I like "The Office" too...

Anniesue and Jess: The episode that I was going to watch was already tivoed. It wasn't coming on last night. Did you see the one with the one legged girlfriend????I need to watch The Office, still haven't seen that one.

Lynette, actually, this particular coach is young and unmarried, so it really meant a lot.
Too cute about your kiddos!

I have yet to see that show. One of these days I may just go ahead and get TV service out here. Nah, probly not.

WHAT?? A young, unmarried karate coach?WHERE? WHERE?? HA, just kidding.

That's awesome. You're kids deserve compliments like that and so do their parents! :0)

Ah yes, as a mom of a head-strong 2YO, I cherish each and every compliment I receive about the boys.

So glad you guys are finally on the Earl band-wagon!! Now, just set the Tivo to record The Office and you will be set for a night of comedy!!

ROFLOL! RUN, Melissa - she's going to start using you for manbait! Of course, that would give you prescreening rights... hmmm... maybe that's a good idea!

And you are doing things right. You guys are amazing. Keep up the good work. And definitely pay it forward. There is a harried mother out there somewhere who needs to hear a kind word about her children - sometimes it turns everything around. :-)
