So....how many of us are pacing back and forth in the waiting room waiting for Dy's baby to be born? Many prayers headed their way I'm sure.
I am slowly getting into the groove here. Race is where he is supposed to be, so that's always a relief to hear. The kids and I have many projects to keep us busy while he is gone. So, we'll concentrate on those awhile.
My youngest has a knack for almost getting killed daily by his older brother and sister. And I can promise you this....if they were ANY OTHER brother or sister, they would have done him in long ago.
Do you know how to get on your big brother's nerves? Well, you COULD dance around in your underwear in front of the Play Station game, while playing on your harmonica. Letting repeated pleasant requests for you to "move please", embolden you to play louder and dance harder.
Do you know how to get on your Big Sister's nerves? Well, you could crouch at the closed door to her room and use two fingers to scratch ever so softly at the bottom of said door, so that sis thinks it is her beloved cat wanting to come in, and then roll around laughing abnoxiously when she answers it. Or you could constantly threaten that, while she is sleeping, you will remove the keys to her diary, which she wears around her neck and then you will know her deepest secrets.
Honestly, I don't know why they don't just pound him. It seems that there is just enough age difference between them for the older two to find him slightly funny. It saves his life I think. I think that humor may be his saving grace throughout life. I mean let's face it. Funny covers a whole lotta crap, ya know? I mean, if you've got "funny".....you've really got somethin'. This is a kid who can make fart noises with the backs of both knees at the same time. At the ripe old age of 8, this is like the mother of all party tricks! By all indications, this child will be good looking as well. Hmmmmm.......too much?
A mother worries.........
Hey! I updated my side bar! I can't figure out why Jess' link won't work. It looks right. anyone?
Have a great night!

A mother always worries...but it's great that you can be so amused along the way. You sound like you're in good spirits...Clink.
I so wish we could get Blake and Jackson together. Blake was 6 before he realized "Please move, move, MOVE!" wasn't his name. And I think you are right about the age difference just being enough and the sense of humor. Blake starts laughing and you just can't help laughing at him.

ROFL Melissa - I think it's a good thing our 8yo's live far, far away. Between the trickery and the sports obsessions they'd do us in combined...LOL
Yes, my son is like this only he's like this to ME too. He's generally not disrespectful just tries to be funny at the most inopportune times! His favorite thing is to sneak, ever so quietly into my room while I'm typing on the computer and just stand there until I either turn around and notice him or say, without looking, "nice try Ry". Thank goodness I have good Spidey Senses and usually can thwart his sneakiness...
I'm scared too! lol
Dawn,
Welcome! Hey, no apology for lurking, necessary. That's the beauty of the internet, no? Thanks for the prayers and also thanks for the help on the link...worked like a charm!
Bridget and Jess,
Glad to know the symptoms are rampant among the 8 yo boy population.....thought this can't be of much comfort to mothers of the under 8 crowd!
Oh, and BTW, they get MUCH better at sneaking up......muuuch better.
